Paint Gear was formed by Martin Buff as a one-stop shop and information outlet for anyone who is interested in the cosmetic improvement of their motor vehicle. Following the success of the YouTube Channel "CVR POV", this website was formed to aid the user in recreating the repair and finish that they saw in the video. This site hopes to remove the stress, time and hassle of endlessly searching for suitable materials and products to achieve the desired results of your project.

Martin has over 15 years experience in the cleaning, repair, refinish and cosmetic restoration of vehicles. Starting out as a car Valeter, he then progressed into automotive detailing and paintwork correction. In 2012 he did a Training course on SMART Repair (Small to Medium Area Repair Techniques), which he practiced and developed for some years. He later progressed into Alloy Wheel Refurbishment and general bodywork, dent repair and vehicle refinishing.

So Why CVR POV and Paint Gear?

On Instagram @cvr_uk quickly grew in popularity and numbers, with over 20k subscribers and counting, becoming one of the largest in Europe for its genre. Martin realised that people were very much interested in the concept of painting and car refinishing outside of a conventional Booth (Painting Oven).
When Martin trained in 2012 there was very little help online for SMART Repair and car refinishing. YouTube had very little content and was still very much an up and coming platform.

In 2020 Martin started the CVR POV YouTube Channel with almost instant success. People can access a POV style insight into running a Smart Repair business and painting outside. The Channel was aimed at the DIY enthusiast and anyone looking into maybe starting a painting business themselves. The step by step guides proved popular and the feedback was really good. Martin then came up with the idea of complimenting the channel with a website that allows people quick and easy access to the products shown in the videos. Paint Gear was developed and formed as an online shop to purchase trade products and materials, with the enthesis on DIY budgets, quantities the users abilities.

Having spent a decade solely cleaning and detailing automotive vehicles, Martin was given the opportunity to work with a very well experienced car cleaning chemical manufacturing company in early 2020. The range has been developed and fine tuned to bring what we believe are some of the most competitive products to arrive on the detailing scene in many years!
With a "does exactly what they say on the tin" no nonsense approach to the branding, packaging and base chemicals used, these products perform with excellent results!
