Audi
Audi
Primary Location: Service/Hand Book (newer models)
Secondary Location: Under Boot mat, spare wheel well (older models)
Paint code example/s: Located on a white sticker within the service book or hand manual. Older models were often located within the spare wheel well, under the boot mat, on a white sticker. In most cases, the code starts with an "L" followed by 3 digits. For example: "LZ9Y" or "LD5K"
Some Example/s below:
PIC 1: This paint code example was found under the boot mat, around the spare wheel well area. This was very common on older VAG models. It reads "LR7H". Often the paper sticker can be a bit worn due to condensation and cleaning of the spare wheel area.
VAG (VW/Audi Group) Car manufacturers began to then put the sticker in the Service Manual, or sometimes the Owners Manual, as well as, or instead of the boot mat area. In this example the code is "LS9R".
As with many VAG Vehicles, the code often starts with an "L". In this example, the code reads "LS9R". Skoda and Bentley sometimes use the format next to it, in this example "2Y2Y".
Top Tip: Audi paint codes are the same as Volkswagen. They both share the same paint information and codes. SEAT, Skoda and sometimes Porsche use the same colours and codes as Audi. For example, code "LC9X" (silent L) is used across all 5 brands and is a black metallic shared by all 5 manufacturers. The brands often share the same codes, but name them differently. "C9X" under VW/Audi/SEAT is "Deep Black Pearl", whereas Porsche is "Jet Black Metallic" or "Tiefschwarz". Code "S9R" Can be called "Nevada White Pearl", "Glacier White" or "Carrara White", depending on Manfufacturer.
